Reflection on Week 5: CONSUMER AWARENESS AND STRATEGIES

Raising awareness and strategizing so that consumers are interested in our products are two things that need to be studied by a company. In practice, there are two things that a company must learn, the first is consumer acquisition strategies and the second is consumer awareness and education. Consumer acquisition is a company process in attracting consumers' attention, so that in the end they are interested in buying the company's products rather than buying products from competing companies. In the process there are 6 stages that must be passed by the company. The first is awareness, at this stage what a company must do is introduce and make consumers aware that the products the company sells do exist in the market. The second is interest, at this stage the company is indeed required to make marketing as attractive and as good as possible so that consumers are not only aware and know what products we sell, but the company must also make consumers think "like this product is very interesting to have".

Furthermore, when consumers feel interested in the company's products, the company and consumers will enter the prospect stage in which there is consideration, intent, and evaluation. At this stage the company is required to convince potential consumers that the products they sell are as good and attractive as the consumers' expectations. For example, if a perfume brand sells a product with advertisements that seem luxurious if someone uses the perfume, then the perfume shop staff must make sure that this perfume does have a luxurious scent, so that if it is used it will appear as if the consumer is seen as a rich and prestigious person.

If consumers feel that the products sold by the company meet the qualifications of consumer expectations, then we will reach the final stage, namely the purchase stage. However, if the consumer feels that the product being sold does not match the expectations shown in the advertisement, the consumer will not buy the product.

After knowing about the company's strategy in terms of consumer acquisition, then we will move on to the next thing, namely consumer education. In essence, this stage is part of the stage of increasing awareness of a product to someone, but what makes it special is that at this stage the company is required to provide more details about the information sold by the company so that they are absolutely sure they know what product is being sold and where the product can be purchased.

In the past, product salespeople came door to door by giving brochures or pamphlets to targeted consumers, placing advertisements in print media such as newspapers or magazines, advertising them on radio or television. However, along with the development of digital media, most of the companies have turned to the use of social media, websites, digital ads, and others in marketing their products, the company believes that the percentage of people on earth have understood and understand how to operate the internet, therefore to make their advertising more cost effective and efficient they choose to switch to digital media

Talking about marketing strategy, there is a hadith of the prophet that instructs traders to explain the quality of the product to their buyers. Rasulullah Shallalahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said "Why don't you also show the low quality so that people can know about it. Anyone who likes to cheat then he is not from my group." This hadith shows that every trader must be honest in marketing their products.

  1. Building consumer awareness is not just about offering and selling products, it requires a philosophical marketing strategy, with a supportive atmosphere and ambience, as well as persuasive rhetoric.

Reflection on Week 2: Integrating the Sejahtera Framework, Sustainable Development and Maqasid alShariah into Customer Awareness

In general there are four subtopics that are covered in this chapter, which are levels of customer awareness, consumer awareness advocacy, consumer intelligence, consumer awareness with Sejahtera Framework. Basically consumer awareness is an understanding or an act where consumer can delivers the information about the products, goods, services, and consumer rights. By having a good consumer awareness means that we have a good understanding about the goods or services that we used either its benefits or its disadvantage, so at the end we can have the right decision when we choose or apply the product. There are 5 stages of consumer awareness, which are unaware, problem aware, solution aware, product aware, most aware. In an era when many people are vying to be rich with the various products or services they sell, it is very important for us as ordinary people who are their target market to have awareness of the products or services they offer. Having an awareness of the product or se...

Reflection on Week 8: Models of Consumer Policy

Consumer policy is a policy that regulates all things about consumerism, both in terms of consumer goods and capital goods. Some of the things discussed were consumer rights, responsibilities of producers and sellers, and all things that are indeed regulated so that the market can run well so that the health, safety and welfare of the community can be guaranteed. Everything related to consumer policy must relate to stakeholders, especially the government which regulates state laws. Anything that is regulated by the state is certainly in the form of intervention to various parties, be it companies or consumers, but that is law, which means to force or suppress, this is done to anticipate unwanted things such as marketplace abuses, market failures, unsafe products or services, and others. For example, in Indonesia, the trade government has decided not to allow anyone to buy luxury goods abroad, and if they buy luxury goods from abroad, they are required to pay excise duty and taxes up...
